Yemen armed forces declare targeting aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman

SANAA, Dec. 22 (YPA) – The Yemeni armed forces declared on Sunday its carried out a large military operation that targeted the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman and a number of its destroyers in conjunction with the start of the UK-US aggressive attack on Yemen.

Military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Sarie, said in a televised statement that the operation, which was carried out with eight cruise missiles and 17 drones against the aircraft carrier and destroyers, led also to the downing of an F-18 aircraft.

The spokesman affirmed that the destroyers were trying to confront the Yemeni drones and missiles during the operation, as well as most of the US warplanes leaving Yemeni airspace for international waters in the Red Sea to defend the aircraft carrier.

Brig. Gen. Sarie revealed the operation also led to the withdrawal of the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman towards the northern Red Sea after being subjected to more than one missile and drone attacks.

“The Yemeni Armed Forces succeed in confronting and thwarting the American-British aggression,” the spokesman added, renewing the full readiness to confront any American-British-Israeli foolishness during the coming period.”

He warned the Israeli and American enemies against any aggression against Yemen, stressing that Yemeni military would use their full right to defend Yemen and continue to support the Palestinian people until the aggression against Gaza is stopped and the siege is lifted.
