Over 1,000 doctors, nurses killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza

GAZA, Dec. 21 (YPA) – The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Saturday that Israeli occupation forces have killed 1,000 doctors and nurses in the strip since the war on Gaza began on October 7, 2023.

The Director-General of Health in Gaza stated that Israeli forces have arrested 350 medical staff from the Gaza health sector since 7 October 2023.

Three of the detained workers have died while in Israeli custody.

According to Palestinian sources, at least 31 have been killed since the early hours of today due to ongoing Israeli airstrikes on various areas of Gaza.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza also  said that the death toll from the Israeli bombardment of the sector since October 2023 has risen to 45,227, with 107,573 injured.

Earlier, the United Nations stated that women and children made up nearly 70% of the casualties in the Israeli war on Gaza between November 2023 and April 2024.
