SHABWA, Dec. 17 (YPA) – Armed clashes erupted, on Tuesday, between tribal gunmen on the outskirts of the Usailan district in Shabwa governorate, adjacent to Ma’rib governorate in eastern Yemen.
Local sources reported that clashes erupted between the Balharith tribe in Usailan and the Al-Boutahif tribe in Al-Wadi district in Marib, using various types of weapons.
The sources attributed the clashes to an old tribal vendetta over a piece of land located between the two directorates, “Al-Farsha”, which each claims to own, without mentioning any human losses.
The sources indicated that the leaders of the factions loyal to the coalition in the “Shabwa Defense” and the Islah Party are financing the tribesmen with money and weapons, and inciting strife among them after the confrontations between them stopped in early October 2023.
