WORLD, Dec. 17 (YPA) – An “Israeli” delegation is currently in the Qatari capital, Doha, to advance negotiations for a hostage release and ceasefire deal in Gaza,, International media reported on Tuesday
According to Reuters, the talks are currently focused on bridging the gaps between the occupation and Hamas regarding the agreement proposed by US President Joe Biden on May 31 of this year.
A source familiar with the negotiations confirmed that the meetings are taking place “between working groups from Israel and Qatar,” according to Agence France-Presse.
The same source explained that the meetings follow a visit by Israeli intelligence chief (Mossad) David Barnea to Doha last Wednesday, although there is no indication that Barnea is attending the current meetings.
Meanwhile, the Israeli public broadcasting authority reported yesterday that an Israeli delegation traveled to Qatar with a “limited mandate” amid “advanced negotiations” with Hamas to push for a prisoner exchange deal.
