OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Dec. 12 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation forces continued a wide-scale arrest campaign that targeted at least 40 people from the West Bank, including former prisoners, since yesterday evening until Thursday morning.
The Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said in a statement that the arrests were concentrated in the Hebron governorate, while the rest were distributed among the governorates of Salfit, Ramallah, Qalqilya, and Jerusalem.
The statement added that the Israeli occupation forces continue to fire live bullets during arrest campaigns, carrying out field investigations of dozens of citizens in several camps and towns, in addition to vandalizing and destroying citizens’ homes.
It is noteworthy that the number of arrests since the beginning of the war on Gaza in October 2023 has reached more than 12,100 citizens from the West Bank, including Jerusalem, according to the statement.
According to the Prisoners’ Affairs Authority and the Prisoners’ Club, the relevant institutions have not been able to count the number of arrests in the Strip, which are estimated in the thousands, since the beginning of the war on Gaza.
