Syrian Army secures strategic mountain in Hama

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), confirmed that the Syrian army successfully had carried out an ambush against militants, thwarting their attempt to seize the Mount Zain al-Abidin area near Hama city last night.

Sputnik news agency reported that the Syrian army lured a group from the ” Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham militants” into a well-planned ambush in the northern Hama countryside, inflicting significant casualties on both personnel and equipment.

The agency noted that after battles that lasted for several hours last night and into the early hours of the morning, relative calm returned to the area following the withdrawal of the remaining attacking groups.

Field sources from Hama city informed Al-Mayadeen TV that over 300 militants were killed in the Syrian army’s ambush at Mount Zain al-Abidin.

The Syrian Observatory also reported early Thursday morning that the “Battle of Mount Zain al-Abidin” in Hama was decisively won by the Syrian army.
