ADEN, Dec. 03 (YPA) – Doctors, nurses, and health sector employees in the Saudi-led coalition-controlled city of Aden in southern Yemen began an open strike on Tuesday in protest against the suspension of their salaries.
Medical sources reported that the strike has spread to various government hospitals, health centers and units in Aden, coinciding with an unprecedented deterioration in living conditions due to the collapse of the national currency to its lowest level on record.
The General Union of Medical and Health Professions in Aden had called for a comprehensive strike in all hospitals, health complexes, clinics, and administrative and service departments starting on Tuesday.
