Hamas welcomes ICC’s decision to arrest Netanyahu, Galant

GAZA, Nov. 21 (YPA) – Hamas Movement welcomed on Thursday the decision taken by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to arrest the war criminals Netanyahu and Galant, on charges of committing war crimes in Palestine.

“This step, which the US administration complicating in the Zionist war crimes, has tried to obstruct for months, by terrorizing the ICC and trying to dissuade it from performing its duty to hold the occupation accountable for its ongoing crimes in the Gaza Strip, constitutes an important historical precedent and a correction to a long path of historical injustice and the heinous violations that Palestinian people have been subjected throughout seventy-six years of fascist occupation,” the movement said in a statement.

The statement called on the ICC expand the scope of its targeting of accountability, to include all the criminal occupation leaders, its ministers and fascist officers, who have shed the blood of Palestinian people and practiced the most heinous acts of killing, terrorism and starvation.

It also called on all countries around the world to cooperate with the ICC in bringing the Zionist war criminals, Netanyahu and Galant, and to work immediately to stop the genocidal war against defenceless civilians in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier in the day, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and Galant over “alleged war crimes” in the Gaza Strip, saying there were “reasonable grounds” to believe they had committed war crimes.
