Southern Movement condemns torture of head of its political office in Saudi prison in Aden

ADEN, Nov. 18 (YPA) – The “Southern Revolutionary Movement Council” condemned on Monday the brutal torture that head of its political bureau, Abdul Wali Al-Subaihi, was subjected to in a prison of the “Dera’ Al-Watan” factions funded by Saudi Arabia in the city of Aden, southern Yemen.

In a statement on Monday, the Council described what Al-Subaihi was subjected to as the “heinous crime,” noting that he was subjected to severe physical and psychological torture, which led to a serious deterioration of his health condition.

According to the statement, Al-Subaihi was subjected to brutal torture in the prisons of the “Dera’ Al-Watan” factions funded by Saudi Arabia after his kidnapping last Wednesday in the Al-Madareba area in Lahj province.

The statement alleged that the torturing of Al-Subaihi was part of a systematic campaign targeting the leaders of the “Southern Revolutionary Movement” and called for urgent action from the international community and human rights organizations to condemn the act and prevent further human rights violations.
