ADEN, Nov. 17 (YPA) – Head of the Supreme Council of the Southern Revolutionary Movement, Abdul-Wali Al-Subaihi, was transferred to a hospital in Aden city, 4 days after his kidnapping in Al Madaribah district, west of Lahj.
Human rights sources revealed that the deterioration of Al-Subaihi’s health, after his kidnapping by the Saudi-funded Dera al-Watan factions last Wednesday in the district, which necessitated his transfer from the detention center to Aden to receive treatment.
The sources explained that Al-Subaihi was kidnapped in accordance with Saudi directives after his return from the Sultanate of Oman.
The Council described in a statement last week the kidnapping as an arbitrary crime and a flagrant violation of human rights.
The kidnapping of Al-Subaihi has rose growing concerns about the political situation in Aden and the rest of the southern provinces that Emirati and Saudi factions are controlling and their impact on the leaders of public political opinion.
The incident is added to a series of violations against political and media activists without revealing their fate, as is the case of the kidnapped and forcibly disappeared Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani since last June by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council factions in Aden.
