MARIB, Nov. 15 (YPA) – Armed clashes broke out on Thursday in the Wadi Obaida district, east of Marib city, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition backed factions.
According to informed sources, the fighting occurred between the tribes of Al-Rashed Muneef and Al-Fajeih in the Shahmah area, located between Al-Naqah and Al-Masayil in Wadi Obaida.
The sources attributed the renewed clashes to old tribal feuds, sparked by the Al-Rashed tribe’s construction of new structures on disputed land, which led to fighting between the two tribes.
No casualties were reported among the combatants.
The tribal feuds between the Al-Fajeih and Al-Rashed Muneef tribes have resulted in nearly 30 casualties on both sides over the past years, amid accusations that the UAE and Saudi Arabia have been fueling these conflicts among the tribes of Marib by providing them with weapons and financial support.
The areas under the control of the Islah Party factions and other pro-coalition groups are experiencing unprecedented security chaos due to the absence of state authority.
