ABYAN, Nov. 14 (YPA) – The Al-Jaadna tribe announced on Wednesday its intention to cut off the road that passes through its lands in Abyan province, southern Yemen.
This comes after a five-month delay in meeting their demands for the release of kidnapped Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani, a member of the tribe, who has been forcibly hidden in the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s prisons in Aden since last June.
The tribe confirmed that neighboring tribes Bakazem and Al-Maraqsha have met their demands by cutting off the coastal road, which is a vital artery in the region.
A statement issued by the Bakazim tribe in Al-Mahfad District responded to the demands of the Al-Jaadna tribe to block the way for the STC vehicles until the fate of Ashal is revealed and he is released from Aden prisons.
