Saudi Arabia ousts commander of “First Military Region” in Sayoun

HADRAMOUT, Nov. 12 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia decided to overthrow the commander of the “First Military Region, Saleh Timas,” affiliated with the Islah Party, in the city of Sayoun, the center of Hadramout province valley districts, eastern Yemen, informed sources reported on Tuesday.

According to the sources, Saudi Arabia nominated three military figures from Hadramout in the “Dera Al-Watan” forces to lead the First Region, following the death of two Saudi officers and the injury of others in the attack carried out by a recruit of the “135th Brigade” of the region last Friday.

The sources did not mention the names of the leaders nominated to lead the region, considering the decision to be a painful blow to the Islah party in Hadramout.

The decision will be taken after the investigations into the killing of Saudi officers are completed and the tension between soldiers and officers in the region ends due to the arrest of a number of their colleagues, the sources added.
