TAIZ, Nov. 11 (YPA) – Militants from the Islah Party had targeted a senior leader in the “Socialist Party” in the coalition-held areas in Taiz province.
Human rights sources in the province said that the leader of the “Taiz Axis”, Abdul Basit Al-Bahr-affiliated militants attacked on Sunday the house of the Deputy Head of the Rights and Freedoms Department in the Socialist Party and Deputy Director of the Human Rights Office, Ahmed Taha Al-Ma’baqi in the center of Taiz city.
Yazan, the son of activist Al-Ma’baqi, was injured after being beaten with rifle butts in an armed attack that elements of the Al-Bahr leader waged early last July.
Al-Bahr, one of leaders of the Islah factions, accused the human rights activist, Al-Ma’baqi, of submitting secret reports to the office of Tariq Afash, nephew of the former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, in the city of Mocha, west of Taiz.
