Zionist officer commits suicide after returning from Gaza battles

GAZA, Nov. 05 (YPA) – An officer in the Zionist occupation army committed suicide on Monday after returning from the battles in the Gaza Strip.

This came in coinciding with the injury of hundreds of Zionist soldiers from “post-traumatic stress disorder” and other psychological disorders due to the war.

Zionist media outlets reported that the soldier, Santiago Ovadia, committed suicide after returning from the battles in the Gaza Strip.

The Zionist newspaper Haaretz reported that ten soldiers committed suicide between October 7, 2023, and May 11, 2024.

Earlier, the Rehabilitation Department of the occupation army published reports indicating that more than a third of the soldiers who were removed from combat suffer from mental health problems.

It explained in a statement issued last August that every month more than a thousand new wounded soldiers are removed from combat for treatment.

According to the reports, 35% of the soldiers suffer from mental health problems, while 27% of them have a mental reaction or post-traumatic stress disorder, adding that at the end of the year, 14,000 wounded fighters are likely to be admitted for treatment, and it is expected that about 40% of them will suffer from mental health problems.
