HADRAMOUT, Nov. 04 (YPA) – Rashad Al-Alimi, the head of the Presidential Leadership Council affiliated with Saudi-led coalition, issued a decision to dismantle the UAE-backed “Hadhrami Elite” forces in the coastal districts of Hadramout, eastern Yemen.
Informed sources reported that Al-Alimi’s decision to oust Salim Basloom, known as the “military police chief” and one of the founders of the Hadhrami Elite, was fully rejected by Basloom himself.
He contended that decisions about changes and appointments should be limited to Hadhramaut.
The sources indicated that Basloom’s rejection of the decision is based on the belief that the “Hadhrami Elite” is subject to the authority of Council members Aidarus al-Zoubaidi and Faraj al-Bahsani, amid accusations that Saudi Arabia is behind the decision.
Additionally, the sources indicated that the decision has questionable objectives aimed at dismantling the UAE-funded Elite forces in favor of the Saudi-funded “Dera Al-Wattan” factions in the coastal districts of Hadramout.
