Training course on writing news story concluded in Sanaa

SANAA, Nov. 02 (YPA) – A training course on writing and editing news story was concluded on Thursday in the capital Sanaa.

The 12-lasted day course aimed to train about 24 media practitioners and trainees, and provide them with the basic skills to judge and edit news, write news stories, analysis and cover events, in addition, how to gather and assess information.

It also touched on the values and ethics of journalism, the main elements of digital storytelling and doing the necessary research to write coherent pieces, and interviewing skills.

At the conclusion ceremony, Ali Al Qasimi, executive director of Skills Development Fund (SDF), confirmed the keenness to develop the capabilities of the media cadres and journalists in various aspects.

In turn, the head of the Ansarullah Media Authority, Raed Jabal, praised the positive role played by the Fund to empower media professionals and to keep pace with the requirements of modern journalism, especially in addressing the nation’s issues.

In the same context, Mr. Mohammed Al-Hattar, the Director of the Sonna’a Al-Qada Center, added that the course contributed to improving the performance of trainees and to learn about modern methods to produce high-quality media content and skills.

Trainer, Mr. Mohammed Jassar stressed that the course was an opportunity to develop the capabilities of media professionals and enhance their skills in conveying facts in a professional style.

Finally, the participants were tasked with writing stories during the course as well as outside it.

The course was organized by the Skills Development Fund, in cooperation with Martyr Zaid Ali Musleh Foundation and the Sonna’a Al-Qada Center for Consulting and Training.
