Lebanon’s FM files new complaint to Security Council against Israeli entity

BEIRUT, Oct. 27 (YPA) – Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it will file a new complaint to the Security Council against Israeli entity for committing massacres against civilians and bombing villages in southern Lebanon.

This came through the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations in New York to document the Israeli aggression and its crimes in Lebanon and to place the international community and the Security Council before their responsibility in order to take action to stop the aggression.

The Mission condemned Israel’s continued aggression and ground military incursion into its territory, committing more massacres against civilians, deliberately and extensively destroying civilian property, and bombing border villages and entire neighborhoods in the south under the pretext of targeting weapons depots or military headquarters.

Lebanon affirmed that the Israeli occupation ignores international legitimacy and does not respect the decisions issued by the United Nations, in addition, it does not abide by the international humanitarian law, escaping accountability and questioning by the international community.

The mission asked the Security Council to condemn the Israeli invasion of its territory and violation of its sovereignty, and the widespread and continuous attacks on its security and the safety of its people.

It called on the Council to compel occupation to fully implement Resolution 1701, starting with an immediate cessation of hostilities and an immediate and unconditional withdrawal from Lebanese territory.
