SANAA, Oct. 10 (YPA) – The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs announced, on Thursday, that a quarter of Lebanese territory has received Israeli orders to evacuate, which confirms the expansion of Israel’s war against Hezbollah and the exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon.
The office said that the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon is deteriorating at an alarming rate, noting that Israeli air strikes have not only intensified, but have also expanded into areas not previously affected and increasingly targeted vital civilian infrastructure.
The office stated, “Evacuation orders, issued for more than 100 villages and urban neighborhoods in southern Lebanon, continue to force people to flee, and a quarter of Lebanese territory is now subject to Israeli military evacuation orders.”
“The health sector in Lebanon is under pressure of massive attacks that target healthcare facilities and its workers, as the education sector faces enormous challenges, as it is currently most public schools are used as collective shelters”, the office added.
The UN Office declared rhat 9869 people were killed, 2083 others injured, while 608,509 persons displaced internally,
180,700 people seeking shelter, and 350,000 children displaced due to ongoing conflict.
