South Africa to present new evidence in genocide case against Israel at ICJ
WORLD, Oct. 07 (YPA) – South African President Cyril Ramaphosa announced today his country’s intention to submit new evidence in the genocide case filed against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
In a statement on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Israeli genocide in Gaza, the South African president said his country will submit new evidence to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) during the current month of October.

He stressed that the memorandum that his country will submit to the court contains “detailed evidence” proving that Israel committed genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza.
Ramaphosa called on Israel to implement the decisions of the provisional measures ruled by ICJ in January, March and May 2024, in the same case.
On January 26, 2024, the court ordered the adoption of provisional measures in the case filed by South Africa against Israel for violating the International Convention on the Prevention of Genocide.
At the end of December 2023, South Africa filed a lawsuit against Israel before the International Court of Justice on the grounds that it violated the 1948 United Nations Convention on the Prevention of Genocide.
