BEIRUT, Oct. 06 (YPA) – Israeli enemy aircraft launched more than 30 airstrikes on Saturday night and early Sunday, targeting areas in Al Marijeh, Burj al-Barajneh, the airport road, and Haret Hreik in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
The Disaster Risk Management Unit stated in its the number of martyrs in Lebanon since October 8, 2023, has risen to 2,036 martyrs and 9,653 injured.
According to the Lebanese National News Agency, the airstrikes hit a fuel station along the Airport Road, a building on al-Barjawy Street in the Ghobeiri area, and various neighborhoods such as al-Zahrani, Burj al-Barajneh, Shweifat, the American neighborhood, Mrayjeh, al-Laylaki, and Haret Hreik.
The airstrikes have resulted in widespread devastation, with sounds of explosions echoing throughout the capital. Black smoke engulfed the area, visible across the southern district of Beirut, the agency added.
Meanwhile, local media reported that Rafik Hariri International Airport, the only airport in Lebanon, experienced a temporary power outage in its eastern section, causing some disruption for travelers.
