Abu Dhabi Airport Security asks journalist Leila Hamid to take off ‘Palestine’ shirt

WORLD, Sept. 28 (YPA) -Sports journalist Leila Hamid documented the moment when Abu Dhabi airport security asked her to take off a sports shirt that had “Palestine” written in large letters.

Hamid, who resides in Britain, shared the incident on her X account, explaining the details: “A female employee approached me along with military personnel four times. After undergoing random checks, they asked me to take off the Palestinian national football team shirt.”

She added, “Those who know me understand that I wear Palestinian shirts when I travel; it has become my airport attire. Recently, I returned from Japan and Korea without any issues at all, and a Korean photographer even took many pictures of me in the shirt.”

She pointed out that the shirt she was wearing has a charitable purpose to support Palestine, mentioning that the proceeds from every purchase go to support the children of Gaza.
