In defiance of coalition’s decision, southern city celebrates September 26 Revolution

HADRAMOUT, Sept. 26 (YPA) – The city of Sayoun in Hadramout province, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition in eastern Yemen, was the first southern city to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the September 26 Revolution.

This comes after the Ministry of Defense and the leadership of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) prevented the celebration of the occasion and the raising of the republican flag.

On Wednesday, the leadership of the “First Military Region” loyal to the Islah Party in the city of Sayoun organized a carnival and parade celebration on the 62nd anniversary of the September 26 Revolution.

The celebration was held at the headquarters of the “101st Air Police Brigade” in Sayoun, under the auspices of the “First Military Region,” amid a wide popular presence.

The Assistant Undersecretary of Hadramout Province for Valley and Desert Affairs, Abdulhadi Al-Tamimi, praised the September revolution, considering it “the mother of the glorious revolutions whose pages were written by all the people of Yemen from east to west.”

The “First Military Region” in Hadramout is the last military region that has not been subject to the control of the UAE, which has been trying to control it through its factions in the coastal districts since it announced operation “Siham Al-Sharq” in 2022.

The leadership of the Saudi forces present in Sayoun prevented the UAE-backed factions from controlling the “First Military Region” camps, despite the reinforcements that Abu Dhabi brought from the areas of Dhalea and Yafea during the past years to Mukalla.
