Recruit in UAE-backed forces committed suicide in STC’s prison in Aden

ADEN, Sept. 24 (YPA) – The “Criminal Investigation” prison, which is controlled by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions in the city of Aden, witnessed the suicide of a recruit in “Al-Amaliqa” forces funded by the UAE.

Human rights sources in the city reported that the conscript in the “Fourth Al-Amaliqa Brigade,” Saqr Fahd Saleh Ahmed, ended his life by hanging himself at the beginning of this week in the bathroom of the notorious Investigation prison run by the STC factions in the Khor Maksar area.

The incident sparked angry reactions, and activists suggested that the suicide incident occurred as a result of the torture and psychological pressures that detainees are subjected to in the STC’s secret prisons, which push the prisoners to commit suicide.

Human rights activists demanded an investigation into the suicide incident and other assassinations that took place inside the STC prisons against dozens of kidnapped and forcibly disappeared people during the past years.
