Demonstrations continue in Australia against arming “Israel” for second day

CANBERRA, Sept. 12 (YPA) – Protests against the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip continued on Thursday outside a defense exhibition in Australia for the second day in a row.

This came after the arrest of dozens of protesters and clashes between police and demonstrators yesterday, Wednesday.

The Australian “News 9” network said that tens of thousands of anti-war protesters organized the largest protest demonstration in recent years around the site of the defense industries exhibition in Melbourne, demanding that Australia stop arms sales to the Zionist entity and end the war on Gaza.

The demonstrators marched in the streets of Melbourne, where the International Land Forces Defense Exhibition is being held, while police set up new barriers to prevent the crowd from entering the roads near the headquarters of the exhibition, which is held every two years.

The Australian authorities deployed security forces, while the police said it was the largest security operation in Melbourne—the second largest city in Australia—since the World Economic Forum in 2000.

Police arrested about 33 demonstrators yesterday, while sponge bullets and sound bombs were used to disperse opponents of selling weapons to the Israeli occupation entity.
