GAZA, Sept. 08 (YPA) – The number of martyrs among Palestinian Civil Defense teams in the Gaza Strip has risen to 83 since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023.
This came after the martyrdom of the Deputy Director of Civil Defense in North Gaza early this morning.
Palestinian Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Bassil, announced today, Sunday, in a media statement, that 83 of their personnel have been martyred since the start of the aggression on the strip.
Bassil highlighted a severe shortage of food and basic necessities in the sector, pointing out that the occupation is focusing its attacks on southern Gaza, which it claims are “safe areas.”
Early this morning, medical sources announced the martyrdom of Colonel Mohamed Morsi, Deputy Director of Civil Defense in North Gaza, and members of his family, in an Israeli airstrike on his home in the Al-‘Aalami area of the Jabalia camp in northern Gaza.
The Civil Defense in Gaza mourned the martyrdom of Colonel Mohamed Abdel Hay Morsi, Deputy Director of Civil Defense in the northern governorate.
In a statement, the Civil Defense said: “Colonel Morsi served in the Civil Defense and in the service of his people and country since 1995.
He ended his life as a martyr while still on duty. We ask Allah the Almighty to accept him among the martyrs.”
