Toll of missing persons due to floods in Mahweet rises to 33

MAHWEET, Aug. 28 (YPA) – The toll of missing persons due to floods that led to the demolition of homes in Mahweet province has risen to 33 missing persons, sources at the Civil Defense Authority said on Wednesday.

The sources added in a statement that rescue teams from civil defense and community teams recovered the bodies of seven citizens in the Malhan district, in an initial toll.

Mahweet’s police explained on Tuesday evening that 24 residents were missing as a result of torrents that swept away a number of homes and shops in the Malhan district, west of the province.
