MAHWEET, Aug. 28 (YPA) – Heavy rains on Tuesday evening caused widespread flooding in the Al-Malhan district of Mahweet Governorate, leading to the loss of several people in addition to the destruction of homes and commercial shops.
According to Mahweet Police, 24 individuals are missing due to the floods and landslides in Al-Malhan, located in the western part of the governorate.
Seven homes and four commercial shops have been destroyed, with their occupants went missing.
So far, two children have been found, and search efforts by the police and local residents are ongoing for the remaining missing individuals.
The severe rainfall in the Hemdan area of Al-Malhan triggered a rockslide that demolished three homes, causing the disappearance of their residents, and also swept away several vehicles.
