60 rights organizations call on EU to suspend cooperation with Zionist entity

BRUSSELS, Aug. 26 (YPA) – About 60 media and human rights organizations called on the European Union to suspend the cooperation agreement with the Zionist entity and impose sanctions, due to the entity’s killing of journalists in Gaza.

“In response to the unprecedented number of journalists have been killed and other repeated violations of press freedom by the Israeli authorities since the start of the war with Hamas,” Reporters Without Borders and 59 other organizations, including Committee to Protect Journalists and Human Rights Watch, said in a joint statement on Monday.

The statement described the period following October 7, 2023, the Zionist aggression and the genocidal war against the people of the besieged Gaza Strip as the bloodiest for journalists in decades.

The statement came ahead of a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels on Thursday, August 29.

As of last Thursday, August 22, the number of journalist martyrs in the Gaza Strip has reached 171 since the beginning of the genocidal war on Oct, 7.
