SHABWA, Aug. 25 (YPA) – Sheikh Hatem bin Mohsen Fareed Al-Awlaki has called on all tribes of Shabwa Governorate to support the demands of the Laqmoush tribe in revealing the fate of their members and securing their release from the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s prisons in Aden.
In a voice message to the Laqmoush tribe, which was shared by activists on social media, Sheikh Al-Awlaki declared his solidarity with the Laqmoush tribe until their demands are met.
He urged the sheikhs and notables of Shabwa, from all their factions, to pressure the authorities in Aden to release the Laqmoush members.
Al-Awlaki emphasized that the fact that the Laqmoush members have been imprisoned for 8 years in Aden’s dungeons is a stain on the conscience of all Shabwa tribes, who have not defended their people and their injustice in Aden and other governorates.
He clarified that the upcoming meeting of the tribes with the Laqmoush tribe will send a strong message to anyone who infringes upon the rights of the people of Shabwa in Aden.
Al-Awlaki further emphasized the need for Shabwa’s voice to be strong and unified, free from petty disputes, so that other parties do not exploit the human rights issues for political or partisan goals.
He continued, “Shabwa today needs to unite and intensify efforts to make our voice stronger and more resonant.”
Al-Awlaki stressed the importance of escalating the situation if the demands of the Laqmoush tribe are not met by the authorities in Aden, by making strong decisions that preserve the rights and dignity of the people of Shabwa.
He pointed out that the southern governorates are currently living in a lawless era, a time of gangs, thuggery, and betrayal—a time of weakness and cowardice, where speaking the truth is suppressed.
