WASHINGTON, Aug. 16 (YPA) – The judicial authorities in the US state of Florida on Friday charged a Jordanian man with sabotaging a solar power station and several private companies for supporting Israel.
Hashem Younis Hashem, 43, who lives in Orlando, was arrested last month and charged with threatening to use explosives and destroying an energy facility.
According to the case data, last June, Hashem began wearing a mask and smashing the doors of some private projects at night.
In late June, Hashem stormed a solar power station in Wedgefield, Florida, according to investigations. Local officials indicated that Hashem spent several hours inside the facility destroying its solar panels and left behind two messages. Officials estimated the value of the damage he caused at about $700,000.
American and Western media reported that Hashem was arrested as a result of joint investigations conducted by several security agencies following the discovery of a threatening letter at a propane gas distribution facility in Orlando.
Officials reported that Hashem was transferred to a local federal prison.
