Hadramout tribes continue to escalate for completing control over oil fields

HADRAMOUT, Aug. 11 (YPA) – Hadramout Tribal Alliance is continuing to escalate towards completing control over the oil fields and facilities in the province, east of Yemen.

Tribal sources familiar with the matter said, “The continued arrival of tribal militants to the plateau overlooking the important oil sectors in the PetroMasila Company strengthens the people of the province’s complete control over the oil facilities, including the important Dhabba Oil Port, which is controlled by forces loyal to the Emirates.”

The sources added that 8 days after the deadline were enough for the tribes to move towards stopping work at the PetroMasila Company and also heading towards the Dhabba oil facilities, which lies western of Ash-Shihr town in Yemen’s eastern Hadramout on the Arabian Sea.

They added that the head of the Saudi-formed “Presidential Leadership Council”, Rashad Al-Alimi, and the Aden government, in addition to Hadramout governor, Mabkhout Bin Madi, have bet that sheikhs and sons of the tribes would get bored of gathering in the plateau area.

The sources stated that the Hadramout Tribal Alliance had monitored the transfer of oil by more than 20 tankers daily from the port of Dhabba, which it considered a challenge to the tribesmen and a violation of their demands.

“Amr bin Habrish, the head of the Alliance and Hadramout Comprehensive Conference, is seeking, in consultation with the sheikhs, to move towards the coastal districts to control the Dabbah oil port and Rayyan Airport,” the sources affirmed, “considering them a strong equation to find quick solutions to implement the demands of the province’s people to share of the wealth and actual partnership.”
