WORLD, Aug. 10 (YPA) – Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, confirmed that “the latest Russian tanks can reach the square in front of the Reichstag building in Berlin in response to the appearance of German equipment as part of the Ukrainian units that invaded the Kursk region.
Medvedev described a Bild newspaper article discussing the return of German tanks to Russian territory after 80 years as vindictive.
“In response, we will do everything to bring the new Russian tanks to the Republic Square (in front of the Reichstag building in Berlin)”, he wrote on the “X“ social network.
Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, stated that Ukrainian forces, numbering around a thousand, attacked the Kursk region on August 6 to seize territory in the Sudzha area.
He noted that their advance into Russian territory had halted.
On the same day, the border town of Sudzha was subjected to repeated intense shelling by Ukraine, with the regional head describing the situation as “extremely tense” the following day. Gerasimov affirmed that the operation in the Kursk region would end with the defeat of the enemy and reaching the state borders.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday that Ukrainian forces had lost over 280 military personnel and 27 armored vehicles.
