Meteorology warns citizens of rock, mud slides on mountainous areas

SANAA, Aug. 06 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology warned citizens on Tuesday of rock and mud slides, especially mountainous areas, as a result of rains.

In its expected weather bulletin, the center called on citizens to avoid valleys and flood paths as a result of rains and hail.

The bulletin also warned of the decrease in horizontal visibility due to rainfall and low clouds on mountain roads and the strong descending winds that stir up dust and sand, especially in coastal and desert areas.

It predicted cloudy weather prevailing in the mountainous heights and rains of varying intensity, on various areas of the provinces of Lahj, Taiz, Ibb, Dhalea, Dhamar, Rayma, Sanaa, Mahweet, Hajjah, Amran, Saada, Bayda Abyan, Shabwa and Hadramout.
