Sanaa announces downing of American plane, targeting ship in Gulf of Aden

SANAA, Aug. 04 (YPA) – The Yemeni Armed Forces confirmed on Sunday that the air defense forces were able to shoot down an American aircraft of “MQ-9” type while it was carrying out hostilities in the airspace of Saada province with a locally made surface-to-air missile.

The statement read by the Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Sarie, explained that this plane is the seventh of its kind that was shot down during the Battle of “the Promised Conquest and the Holy Jihad” in support of Gaza.

In another operation, Brigadier General Sarie announced that the naval forces and the missile force carried out a joint military operation targeting the ship “Groton” in the Gulf of Aden with a number of ballistic missiles and confirmed that the hit was accurate.

He pointed out that the targeting of the ship came because the company that owned it violated the decision to ban entry into the ports of occupied Palestine.

The Yemeni Armed Forces saluted the valiant Palestinian resistance for 300 days of steadfastness, heroism, and sacrifice in defense of the nation, its pride and dignity, and a victory for its sanctities.

The statement emphasized continuing to carry out military operations in the various escalatory stages that would not stop except by stopping the aggression and lifting the siege on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
