ADEN, Aug. 04 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based Aden governor, Tariq Salam, condemned on Saturday the targeting of peaceful demonstrators by the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Al-Aroud Square, which led to deaths and injuries.
Salam described in a statement the targeting of demonstrators with live bullets as a crime added to the series of brutal crimes committed by the STC elements against the people of Aden and the southern province , the latest of which was the kidnapping of Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal and other people and put them inside the notorious secret prisons.
He stressed that the protests that the parade square in Aden, south of Yemen, witnessed had reflected the extent of the popular rejection of the STC and its factions funded by the Emirates, which turned Aden and the rest of the southern regions into an arena for chaos and terrorism, in addition to practice of the most heinous violations and crimes against thousands of civilians.
Salam stated that the peaceful protest march revealed the bloody reality of the STC by repression and direct shooting at the demonstrators.
He pointed out that the great popular momentum embodied by the people of Aden and the southern provinces in the parade square showed the ugly face of the coalition and its tools.
