GAZA, July 29 (YPA) – At least 1.5 million displaced individuals in the Gaza Strip have contracted infectious diseases as a result of repeated displacement trips from the Israeli aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip, the Gaza-based Government Media Office said on Monday.
The office affirmed in a statement that 350 thousand Palestinians are infected with a skin disease inside the displacement camps.
For his part, Mohammed Saqr, director of the nursing department at Nasser Hospita, attributed the spread of skin diseases among the displaced to environmental pollution, the lack of clean water, and the unavailability of healthy food.
He pointed out that the gathering of large amounts of waste near the tents of the displaced and the spread of sewage are factors leading to the spread of skin diseases.
Saqr called on international organizations to provide permanent water lines for the displaced, but the power outage for about ten months and the targeting of infrastructure prevent that.
