Fire extinguished at Hodeida port, power station after Israeli airstrikes

HODEIDA, July 25 (YPA) – The head of the Civil Defense Authority in the Sanaa government, Major General Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Muayad, confirmed that firefighters have managed to extinguish the fire that broke out in the oil tanks at Hodeida Port and the fuel tanks at the central power station in the province of Hodeida, due to Israeli airstrikes targeting these facilities last Saturday.

Major General Al-Muayad explained that the firefighters have successfully put out over 90% of the fire, with only the cooling process remaining.

He pointed out that the Civil Defense teams from the provinces of Hodeida, Sanaa, and Hajjah, in cooperation with the local authorities in Hodeida province, the Oil and Gas Companies, and fire fighting vehicles belonging to private companies and factories, under direct instructions from the leader of the revolution and the Supreme Political Council, as well as the leadership of the ministry of interior, have participated in the operation.

He confirmed that the authority will announce further details upon completion of the cooling process for the oil tanks.
