Oman’s Police: Three brothers were behind the attack that killed six people

MUSCAT, July 18 (YPA) – The Royal Oman Police said on Thursday that the three perpetrators involved in the shooting incident in Wadi Al Kabir were Omani brothers, noting that they “died as a result of their insistence on resisting the security men.”

The police added, “The investigative procedures and investigations indicated that they were influenced by misguided ideas.”

On Tuesday, the Royal Police explained that the attack resulted in the death of five people, the martyrdom of one policeman, and the death of the three perpetrators, in addition to the injury of 28 people of different nationalities, including four people, including policemen and members of the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority, while performing their national duty.

Among the dead were two Pakistani citizens, according to the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Pakistani Embassy in Oman said that it is working closely with the Omani authorities to identify the owners of the remains and return them to their homeland.

Pakistan, for its part, pledged to provide full support for the investigation “in order to bring those responsible for this heinous act to justice.”
