GAZA, July 16 (YPA) -Rafah mayor Ahmed al-Sufi said that more than 50,000 citizens are besieged inside the neighborhoods of Rafah in southern Gaza with no access to any basic services or vital needs for their survival.
“Municipal crews and emergency committees are unable to deliver any basic services to the residents stranded inside Rafah neighborhoods, which exacerbates the scale of the risks facing them,” Sufi added.
The mayor added that medical and civil defense crews are also unable to enter most of the areas in Rafah in order to evacuate casualties.
He accused the Israeli occupation army of deliberately isolating Rafah from the world to hide the size of its crimes and atrocities against the displaced people living there.
On Saturday afternoon, the Israeli army committed a massacre in the Mawasi area west of Khan Younis (southern Gaza Strip), resulting in the death of dozens of Palestinians and a large number of injuries.
In the final toll announced by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip on Saturday evening, it was stated that “the number of martyrs from the massacre committed by the Israeli army in the Mawasi area has risen to 90 Palestinians, with 300 others injured.”
