Major exchange companies close their doors in Aden

ADEN, July 14 (YPA) – Major exchange companies and a number of banks closed their doors in the city of Aden and the rest of the areas under the control of the Saudi-led coalition in response to the withdrawal of their licenses by the Central Bank of Aden.

Local sources in the city reported that “Al-Kuraimi Microfinance Bank” and “Al-Tadhamon Bank” closed their branches in the city of Aden and the rest of the regions as a result of Aden Bank’s decision to withdraw their licenses, along with a number of Yemeni banks that refused to move their headquarters from the capital, Sanaa, to Aden.

The sources explained that the banks rejected the Saudi-American conspiracy that aims to destroy the banking sector, which represents the backbone of the Yemeni economy, by directing the Bank of Aden to withdraw the banks’ licenses and close the SWIFT system to foreign transfers coming to areas controlled by the Sanaa government.

Aden’s central bank, which is controlled by the coalition, took destructive measures for the Yemeni economy in response to the naval blockade imposed by Sanaa forces on Israeli ports in support of the Palestinian resistance in Gaza.

The United States of America, in cooperation with Saudi Arabia, moved towards economic escalation by targeting a number of Yemeni banks in Sanaa and trying to pressure the later economically to stop naval military operations.
