OCCUPIED PALESTINE, July 13 (YPA) -A high-ranking Israeli official involved in the prisoner exchange negotiations has indicated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s latest demand to block the return of “armed militants” to northern Gaza could jeopardize the discussions.
The Israeli news website Walla reported that the official said, “Members of the negotiating team expressed reservations about the Prime Minister’s demand during the consultations held on Thursday regarding the hostage deal, stating that it is unfeasible.”
The official added that Netanyahu has informed the negotiating team that he is adamant about this demand.
Some members of the negotiating team believe that Netanyahu’s demand is a tactical move meant to secure additional concessions from the Palestinian resistance movement in Gaza.
