Amnesty International: Evacuation orders for Gaza city residents may amount to war crime

GAZA, July 12 (YPA) – Amnesty International stated that the repeated evacuation orders are unlawful under international law and may amount to a war crime.

“Palestinian civilians have faced multiple waves of displacement due to Israel’s relentless nine-month onslaught on the occupied Gaza Strip and the repeated “evacuation” orders,” the Amnesty International said in a post on X on Friday.

It added: “This week Israeli forces issued yet another sweeping “evacuation” order for Gaza City, ordering all its inhabitants to flee south.”

“In the absence of any guarantees to return after the end of hostilities and with no safe and dignified accommodations for the displaced, such orders amount to unlawful transfer, a war crime.”

Last Wednesday, the Israeli occupation forces issued orders to evacuate the entire population of Gaza City.

“Leaflets dropped by aircraft instruct “everyone in Gaza City” to leave what is described as a “dangerous combat zone” via designated safe routes – marked as two roads that lead to shelters in Deir al-Balah and al-Zawaida,” the occupation army said in a post at that time.
