10 people killed by lightning strikes across five Yemeni governorates

POVINCES, July 11 (YPA) – At least eight people have died as a result of lightning strikes in the governorates of Hajja, Amran, Al-Dhalea, Mahweet, and Sanaa during the past hours.

Local sources in Mahweet reported that a woman in her twenties and her 18-month-old daughter were killed by a lightning strike that hit their home on Tuesday, in the village of Beit Al-Radi in the Al-Majadil district, according to “September Net.”

In the same vein, a person named Fahmi Mohammed Al-Adraisi died due to a lightning strike in the village of Shadhan, in the Qatabah district of Al-Dhalea governorate.

In Hajjah governorate, a lightning strike claimed the life of a woman in the Al-Shafa’a area of the Aslam district .

In Sanaa governorate, two people from the village of Al-Tarf in the Bani Midhin area of Sa’afan  district were killed after being struck by lightning.

According to locals, the deceased were identified as Ibrahim Mohammed Balghith Al-Habaji and Abdul-Aqeel Mohammed Nasser Al-Nahari.

In Amran governorate, a lightning strike led to the death of a person from the Dhu Shaqri family and injured another.
