WORLD, July 09 (YPA) – US Department of State expressed its concern to India regarding New Delhi’s relationship with Moscow following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia.
State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated on Monday, “We have clearly conveyed our concerns to India about its relationship with Russia.”
Miller added that Washington hopes India, or any other country engaging with Russia on the Ukrainian conflict, will emphasize “the importance of respecting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on an official visit to Russia on July 8th and 9th.
During his visit, Modi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and discussions between the two leaders are scheduled for today, Tuesday, July 9th.
