TEHRAN, July 06 (YPA) – The Iranian Ministry of Interior has announced the victory of the reformist candidate Masoud Pezeshkian in the second round of the Iranian presidential elections.
Mohsen Islami, spokesperson for the Iranian Election Committee, stated that Masoud Pezeshkian won in the second round of elections to become the ninth president of the Islamic Republic of Iran since its establishment.
He added, “Masoud Pezeshkian received 16,384,403 votes, while his competitor Saeed Jalili received 13,538,179 votes.”
Islami noted that a total of 30,573,931 votes were counted, with a voter turnout of 49.8%, exceeding the turnout in the first round of elections.
