Prominent leader: UAE-backed factions received a severe blow as Sanaa forces captured strategic positions south of Marib

MARIB, July 02 (YPA) -A prominent leader in Ansarullah confirmed that Sanaa forces have imposed full military control over a strategic area while repelling an advance by Saudi-led coalition factions in the Harib front, south of Marib province.

Abdullah al-Naami, a member of Ansarullah Political Bureau, also confirmed that Sana’a forces have fully seized control of the Al- Jafarah area in Harib-Marib after intense clashes with factions that lasted for several hours.

In a post on his X account, Al-Naami said that the liberation of the Jafarah area and its control constituted a severe blow to the coalition forces.

He pointed out that the Jafarah area had been a crucial stronghold for the coalition factions in southern Marib’s oil region.

On Monday, the UAE-backed factions such as Al-Amaliqa ,(Shabwani Elite)  and the so-called “Sab’aa Axis”, attempted to advance towards the strategic Mount Malaa in the range separating Harib and Jubah districts south of Marib, Yemen Press Agency reported on Monday.

The information indicated that Sanaa forces, after fierce confrontations, successfully repelled the advance of UAE-affiliated factions, launching a counter-attack that forced them to withdraw towards their strongholds in Ain district of Shabwa province.

The UAE factions suffered human casualties and substantial material losses in equipment and supplies.

The complete control over the strategic Jafara area was achieved due to its location between the Harib and Al-Abdiyah districts.
