Security official demands protection from coalition after surviving armed ambush in Taiz

TAIZ, June 30 (YPA) – A security official in Taiz survived an assassination attempt by armed individuals affiliated with the Saudi-led coalition, amid demands for protection for him and his family from any further attacks.

According to pro-coalition media sources, Mohammed Ali Al-Tayyar, Assistant Director of Criminal Investigation and head of the Assault and Murder Division in Taiz, escaped an assassination attempt by gunmen belonging to the coalition.

They added that Al-Tayyar fell into an armed ambush last Saturday near his home after his house was attacked multiple times.

Al-Tayyar reportedly demanded that the coalition provide protection for him and his family.

In his security report, Al-Tayyar pointed out that there are people calling for unity while undermining security in Taiz from within, spreading chaos and carrying out assassinations, in a clear accusation of Ammar Affash’s cells.
