Bodyguard of pro-UAE governor of Shabwa assassinated

SHABWA, June 30 (YPA) – A bodyguard of the governor of Shabwa province, Awad Al-Wazir, who is loyal to the UAE, was assassinated during the past hours, informed sources said on Sunday.

The sources explained that the bodyguard ‘Awad Khamis’ was killed by a fatal dose of poison while eating a meal during his visit to the headquarters of the UAE forces located at the airport in the city of Ataq, the center of the province.

As a result of the visit, Khamis suffered a sudden health problem, was transferred to a hospital in the city of Mukalla, the center of Hadramout province, and died yesterday, Saturday, the sources explained.
