ABYAN, June 25 (YPA) – A citizen was killed and a leader in the UAE-backed Transitional Council factions and his companions were wounded, on Tuesday, in armed confrontations in the center of the city of Lawdar in Abyan province, southern Yemen.
Informed sources confirmed that the commander of the so-called Security Belt Forces in the central region of Abyan, Muhammad Abdullah Samqa, was injured due to an exchange of fire with citizens after they refused to storm their homes in Lawdar.
It was reported that citizens prevented members of leader Samqa from storming their homes, and armed clashes broke out between them, which led to the death of a citizen and the wounding of Leader Samqa and two of his companions.
